Economic Benefits brought by Australian Immigration

If you look at the projected growth in population of Australia, which is will be 38 million by 2050, you will be surprised to know that the migrants coming to Australia Permanent Residency will be contributing $1,625 billion (1.6 trillion) to the overall  GDP of Australia, making them one of the most prosperous and precious additions to Australia in the recent couple of years.

Australian Migration will be putting in 15.7 per cent to our workforce participation rate and 5.9 per cent in GDP per capita growth. Without the prevalence of migration, the Australian population as well as their economic growth and development would stand still.

Skilled migration is in high demand in Australia as these are mainly migrants who work in every sector of Australia, thus advancing the Australian economy, with the inclusion of their skills, talent and work experience on a global level. Right from the beginning of history Australian migration trends have had a transformational effect, right from the British and French settlers coming to Australia in the  early 20th century.

A report by Treasury and home affairs stated that “Migrants deliver an economic dividend for Australia due to current policy settings which favor migrants of working age who have skills to contribute to the economy” This report pointed out to the fact that when people Migrate to Australia the tax revenue generated by migrants was much higher in comparison with what they had claimed in government support programs.

To arrive here all you need is to score a minimum of 65 Australia PR points or more on the points system to be able to apply via Subclass 189 (Skilled Independent visa). If not that there is another skilled migration pathway called the Skilled Nominated or Subclass 190 visa, that nominates individual applicants based on whether their chosen occupation falls in the updated Skilled Occupation List of the province. Other pathways are via newly skilled regional visa routes namely Subclass 491 and 494 brought in place of the earlier functioning Subclass 489.

In order to invest in or own and operate a business in Queensland, aspirants must choose an appropriate Australia immigration pathway.

To obtain a Business Visa for Australia, candidates are first required to secure a state nomination. Nominees must apply for PR to the federal immigration authority – the Department of Home Affairs – which decides the final visa outcome.

There are several visa options for business immigration to Queensland. Interested candidates can select the ideal pathway for their profile and purpose by consulting an authentic agency that provides legitimate Australia immigration services.

Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 188) is only valid for four years. However, holders can eventually apply for permanent residence through the Subclass 888 visa, provided certain requirements are fulfilled. What Is The Age Limit To Apply For PR In Australia?

According to me there is nothing better than permanent residency in Australia, owing to the scale of long-term benefits like Medicare and insurance, world-class education at top class universities as well as social security benefits such as Centrelink providing monthly payments for children’s education, healthcare, income assistance as well as support to disable people and senior citizens. But to be able to avail all these attractive perks you need to fulfill certain eligibility requirements, one of which is the age limit that affects your Australia PR Visa application approval.

Since majority of the immigrants belong to the skilled migration categories like Skilled Independent Visa (Subclass 189), Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190) and Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa (Subclass 489) there is an age limit requirement you need to follow.

For you to be invited to apply for Australian permanent residency you will be required to be aged under 45 years. The age group between 25 to 32 helps you gain maximum Australia PR points, after which your points tend to go downhill. You can still apply for PR visa, if you turn 45, after the immigration department of Australia sends you the Invitation to Apply. If you turn 45, after you have submitted your Expression of Interest or EOI, but prior to when the Invitation is sent to you, you will not be able to receive an invite.

What score is required for a PR in Australia?

Be it any of the commonly pursue skilled migration pathways like Skilled Independent Visa (Subclass 189), Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190) and Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa (Subclass 489) you will be required to score a minimum of 65 points or higher on the points system as all of these above are point-tested visas. To calculate the scores, you can use the ranking tool also commonly called as the Australia Points Calculator

These points are granted on the basis of parameters such as age, work experience, competency in English language, educational qualification in or outside Australia as well as other additional factors such as Credentialed community language, Study in regional Australia as well as Partner skills.

For you to apply for Australia PR, you must score 65 points or above or else you will not be invited to apply from the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP). If you are not sent an invite to apply, you will be sent an invitation declaring the number of points required to be scored by you, for your application to be evaluated by DIBP, so that your visa can then be granted. During application submission you must be able to provide evidence supporting your claims.

With affordable housing and a highly efficient transportation system, it becomes a comfortable transition when you Migrate to Australia in search of umpteen employment opportunities or a high quality of living.

One of the first things that must be taken care of, when you immigrate to Australia is the housing, as that is one of the most fundamental requirements for a migrant coming to live as permanent resident. Also, you need to take care of things like enrolling your children in to a school, opening a bank account, applying for a credit card, getting a driving license and much more. Accordingly, you must prepare your documents and applications, as they will be required at every step.

Once you have moved to the Australian province of your residence, you can even own your own property. But buying a property is a big choice, which requires in-depth research, studying the real estate market. When it comes to purchasing a property since you are an overseas buyer you must read between the fine line of the terms and conditions of the property, so as to not skip or miss any detail while buying a house.

One of the best things about getting owning your property in Australia, that you can do the same not only if you are permanent resident, but also as a temporary resident of the country. This can be done as long as you comply with the terms and conditions designed by the Foreign Investment Board.

If you wish to buy a property with an Australian partner or citizen, then the rules are different from that of yours.  In such a case as the only individual you will be required to get an approval from Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB) prior to purchasing a property in Australia. Australia PR Requirements for State Nomination to South Australia

Immigration to South Australia allows access to job opportunities in Adelaide – the fifth most liveable city in the world – and less-populated areas of the state, as well as world-class education and healthcare services. Those who wish to unlock these privileges must fulfil the Australia PR requirements of ‘Immigration South Australia’ – the state government agency that issues state nominations to eligible candidates.

Australian states nominate candidates who can fulfil the local job market requirements. State nomination under the Skilled Nominated visa (Subclass 190) or Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa (Subclass 489) can add 5 or 10 points, respectively, to the applicant’s total point score. This can significantly improve the chances of being invited to apply for the relevant visa by the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) – the federal immigration authority that determines the final outcome of visa application.

Before pursuing the Australia PR Process under Subclass 190, an aspirant should ensure that they can meet certain requirements. The applicant must:

  • Be under 45 years of age at the time of receiving the decision on state nomination.
  • Have an occupation featured on the State Nominated Occupation List or Supplementary Skilled List, and meet the eligibility requirements for that occupation.
  • Receive a positive General Skilled Migration skills assessment from the relevant authority for the nominated skilled occupation. The assessment report is valid for three years, unless mentioned otherwise.
  • At least one year of skilled work experience (paid employment for at least 20 hours per week) within the preceding three years – unless the nominated skilled occupation has a higher work experience requirement.
  • Have sufficient funds to support self and accompanying dependents to settle in South Australia, after securing the Australia PR visa.
  • Be awarded a sufficient score in an approved English language proficiency examination, to meet the English language requirement of the nominated occupation. This requirement does not apply to citizens or passport holders of UK, USA, Ireland, New Zealand or Canada.
  • File an Expression of Interest in SkillSelect – the DHA’s online portal that selects eligible candidates – by satisfying the eligibility requirements of the DHA and Immigration SA, including scoring at least 65 points in the point test, based on the DHA criteria.
  • Commit to living and working in South Australia for at least two years after arriving.

These Australia PR Requirements have been designed to evaluate a prospective immigrant’s potential to contribute to the South Australian economy, be integrated into the local workforce, and adapt to community life in their new home.

The South Australia Immigration Process under Subclass 190

South Australia is an immigrant-friendly destination offering a broad range of job opportunities. The coastal capital of the state – Adelaide – is a major metropolitan centre of Australia and the fifth most-liveable city in the world. Australia immigration aspirants who wish to improve their point score through state nomination can explore the Skilled Nominated visa (Subclass 190) – a pathway for permanent residence in South Australia (SA).

While Immigration SA is the body that issues nominations for this state, the Australian Department of Home Affairs (DHA) is the immigration authority that grants the Subclass 190 visa. This is a points-tested visa category i.e. the candidate must score at least 65 points based on several evaluation factors, to be considered by SkillSelect – the DHA’s online portal which assesses eligibility of registrants. Securing a state nomination adds 5 points to this score, thus enhancing the applicant’s chances for selection.

While considering options for how to migrate to Australia, it is necessary to first ensure that the applicant can fulfil the eligibility requirements of the relevant visa category. To qualify for state nomination in SA, the applicant must:

  • Submit an Expression of Interest under SkillSelect by fulfilling the eligibility criteria of the DHA.
  • Be under 45 years of age at the time of receiving the nomination.
  • Practice an occupation listed under the State Nominated Occupation List. Some applicants may be able to access a Supplementary Occupation List, or be engaged in occupations that have special conditions.
  • Possess a positive Skills Assessment from the relevant assessing authority.
  • Have at least one year of skilled work experience in the preceding three years. Certain occupations may have a higher minimum work experience requirement. International graduates from SA universities/colleges may not be required to fulfil this requirement.
  • Appear for an approved English language examination and meet the minimum language skills requirement for the occupation, set by Immigration SA. (Not applicable for citizens or permanent residents of Ireland, UK, Canada, USA or New Zealand.)
  • Showcase sufficient funds to support themselves and accompanying family members to settle in SA.
  • Commit to living and working in SA for at least the initial two years after landing in Australia.

Those who can satisfy these requirements can follow the procedure for immigration to SA under Subclass 190:

Step 1: Expression of Interest (EOI)

Lodge an EOI in SkillSelect, choose SA as the preferred destination and select the Subclass 190 visa.

Step 2: Apply for State Nomination

File an online application for state nomination to Immigration SA, through their website, by submitting the required documents and paying the application fee (AUD 200).

Step 3: Invitation to Apply

Typically, applications for nomination under subclass 190 are processed within 8 weeks. If Immigration SA issues the nomination, the applicant will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for the Subclass 190 visa via e-mail.

Step 4: Visa Application

Nominated candidates must submit a visa application to the DHA within 60 days of receiving the ITA, along with the visa fee (AUD 3,755) and supporting documents that validate the claims made in the EOI. The DHA takes 11-14 months to process the Subclass 190 visa application. After due verification, the PR visa may be granted.

Citizenship can eventually be attained by those who have been living in Australia on a valid visa for at least four years during which they have not lived away from Australia for more than 12 months, and have been permanent residents for at least one year preceding the citizenship application.

Obtaining the Subclass 190 visa allows the candidate to permanently live and work in SA. By successfully pursuing the South Australia immigration process, skilled workers can create a bright and sustainable future in the state.
